About This Website

My name is Jay Norris. My wife, Louise, and I recently had a baby boy with Flame in attendance, and we couldn’t be happier with the services she provided. We’ve had friends ask for her website or email address, but since Flame’s passion is midwifery - not website design - there was no website to give. So I thought I’d make one for her. We were given Flame’s name by friends who had worked with her during two pregnancies and been very satisfied. During the course of our pregnancy, she provided excellent prenatal care, all the while reinforcing Louise’s ability to grow and birth a healthy baby. Matthew was born on 5/5/08, after 45 long hours of labor. Flame and her backup midwife (Elizabeth Moore) were there with us, helping Louise through the hardest parts, making sure that Matthew and Louise were both ok, and reassuring us both that we would be able to deliver our baby at home, without extensive intervention. Because of the length of the labor and the fact that Louise stayed at 9 cm for seven hours, we both get cold chills thinking about how different Matthew’s birth story would have been if we had been in a hospital with doctors in attendance. Because of Flame and Elizabeth’s patience, knowledge of the birth process, and calm support, our baby was born naturally at home, just as we had planned.
